CACI names former Joint Chiefs' Shelton to board Print
Washington Business Journal - April 24, 2007 - by Jeff ClabaughStaff Reporter

Retired Army Gen. Hugh Shelton, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1997 to 2001, is joining the board of CACI International.

Arlington-based CACI has also added former DynCorp chairman and chief executive Dan Bannister to its board.
CACI, which has lowered its full year forecast for sales, will gain experts in intelligence, homeland security and federal government modernization programs. Both appointments take effect May 1.

Shelton, a former Green Beret, served two tours of duty in Vietnam and received the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest award conferred by the U.S. Congress. He was promoted to general in 1996. Shelton also serves on the board of directors at Red Hat and Anheuser-Busch.

Bannister, who oversaw more than 40 acquisitions during his tenure at DynCorp, was chairman when Computer Sciences Corp. acquired DynCorp in 2003. He is also chairman of the Board of Social & Scientific Systems and a former chair of the Northern Virginia Technology Council Foundation.

In January, CACI lowered its sales forecast for 2007 to as much as $1.95 billion, blaming unexpected reductions in Defense Department contracts and an increase in protests of major contracts the company has already won. CACI's (NYSE: CAI) second quarter net income fell 8.1 percent to $20.5 million, despite a 14 percent gain in sales to $476.9 million.
